Filamentous Algae Seines
These floating type seines are specially designed for collection and removal of undesirable growths from the
surface of lakes, ponds, resacas, and canals. When algae and other aquatic weeds grow beyond control, they
can obstruct the natural aquatic development of marine wildlife and the surrounding areas. Water flow that
circulates oxygen, and other vital nutrients are disrupted, which is very harmful to fish and other aquatic
species as well as other surrounding wildlife, disrupting local hunting and fishing. Ideal for municipal districts,
utility boards, water system works agencies and other government organizations looking to eliminate the
growth that that is destroy their local ecology. Our filamentous seines are also great to restore and beautify
golf coarse, parks, or even a lake in the back yard.
Our filamentous seines are constructed from non-abrasive nylon netting hung on a polyethylene head rope.
They measure 24” in height and are sold by the running foot. A #30/1/4” Lead line is installed on the footrope
to ensure the vertical positioning remains intact through the course of the tow. CS3 floats are attached every
18” to ensure buoyancy and additional latex treatment is applied to further increase the longevity of the seine
net. This treatment has been tested to be non-pollutant and non-harmful to your local marine ecology.
